Both (“CV”, “we”, “our”, “us”) aim to promote the Christian faith globally through online mass media and the support of Christian mission workers, churches, missionary organisations and mission projects on the ground. This notice (together with the documents referred to on it) tells you the terms on which you may make use of CV Europe (“CV”, “we”, “our”, “us”) websites, products and services as a guest. Please read these terms of use carefully before you start to use our websites, products or services.

3. Joining a CV Community
In order to access some features on CV Platforms, you may have to become a registered member by completing your profile through a Mobile App and complying with the registration requirements as prompted/indicated, which may be subject to change at CV’s discretion from time to time
You should provide true, accurate and complete registration information. As part of a registration process, you may be provided with a username (login, a unique user’s account name) and a password, and you will be responsible for all activities occurring under your username and for keeping your password secure.
At CV’s sole discretion the registration of a profile may be refused if that profile:
impersonates a third party;
is or may be protected by trademarks or any other intellectual property rights; or
is vulgar, offensive or otherwise inappropriate.
You agree to notify CV immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account or access to your password. You are solely responsible for any and all use of your account. This Agreement shall remain in full force and effect while you use CV websites, products and services.
CV websites, products and services may not be used in connection with any commercial endeavours except those that are specifically endorsed or approved beforehand by CV. Appropriate legal action will be taken for any illegal or unauthorised use of CV websites, products and services.
By submitting, posting or displaying any Materials on or through CV websites, products and services, you automatically grant to CV a worldwide, non-exclusive, sublicense able, transferable, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable right to copy, distribute, create derivative works of, publicly perform and display such Materials. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other CV users. CV reserves the right, but has no obligation, to monitor disputes between you and other Members.
CV shall not be responsible for any connection or access to CV websites, products and services by you, or the quality of the transmission of any information passing between you and the website. You will be responsible for providing your own communications equipment to access the CV websites, products and services via the Internet, and the Internet access charges thereon.
Access to CV websites, products and services is permitted on a non-permanent basis, and we reserve the right to withdraw, restrict or amend the service we provide on our sites without notice. We will not be liable if for any reason our site is unavailable at any time or for any period.

4. Provision of CV websites, products and services to Registered Users
4.1 Access
CV, in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, shall provide access to CV websites, products and services to the Registered User, so long as the Registered User is not in breach of any of these Terms and Conditions.
Registered Account Information – The Registered User is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the Registered User’s information.
The Registered User can review and edit information as required in the registered account.
The Registered User is solely responsible for all activities occurring under their registered account. If the Registered User believes the information and privacy of their account is not secure, the Registered User can restrict access to the CV website, products or service they are utlilizing.
4.2 Directions
Throughout the Term the Registered User must comply with all reasonable and lawful directions that CV may issue in its discretion from time to time with respect to the use of and access to CV websites, products and services.
4.3 Restricted Access
From time to time, CV may restrict access to some parts of CV properties, or all of CV properties, to Registered Users.
4.4 Termination
CV may terminate your User Registration at any time, at CV’s sole discretion, without notice to you.

5. Your Warranties and Obligations
5.1 You agree to:
comply with these Terms and Conditions, along with all applicable laws and regulations;
comply with CV’s Privacy Policy and any other policy CV publishes on CV websites, products and services from time to time;
use CV websites, products and services in good faith and for lawful purposes.
5.2 You must not:
post or send any material, or do anything which is unlawful, offensive, abusive, indecent, defamatory or menacing, or in breach of any publicity, privacy or other rights of others;
reproduce, distribute, re-transmit, upload, repost, or “frame” any of the information or material on CV websites, products and services for any purpose;
upload or post any content in violation of any third party intellectual property rights;
post commercial advertisements or promotional material without CV’s consent;

6. Interactive Services
CV websites, products and services provide a number of interactive services, including:
opportunity to share videos;
messaging service;
blogs;
links to other social media networks;
access to various reporting tools;
location based connections to CV ministry partners.
CV has community specialists who currently monitor some of the activity on the interactive services, however, CV is under no obligation to oversee, monitor or moderate any interactive service provided, and CV expressly excludes liability for any loss or damage arising from the use of any interactive service by a Registered User or guest in contravention of our content standards, whether the service is moderated or not.
The use of any of our interactive services by a minor is subject to the consent of their parent or guardian. It is advised that parents who permit their children to use an interactive service that it is important that they communicate with their children about their safety online, as moderation is not foolproof. Minors who are using any interactive service should be made aware of the potential risks to them.
Where CV does moderate an interactive service, you will be provided with a means of contacting the moderator, should a concern or difficulty arise.
7. Communication Standards
These communication standards apply to any and all communications which you contribute to CV websites, products and services, and to any interactive services associated with it.
7.1 Contributions must:
Be accurate (where they state facts);
Be genuinely held (where they state opinions); and
comply with applicable local law in any country from which they are posted.
7.2 Contributions must not:

Give the impression that they emanate from CV, if this is not the case; or
Advocate, promote or assist any unlawful act such as (by way of example only) copyright infringement or computer misuse.
7.3 Removing Contributions
CV has the right to remove any contributions you make using our interactive services if, in our opinion, such material does not comply with the content standards set out above or these Terms and Conditions, generally.
8. Intellectual Property
You warrant that any contribution you make to CV websites, products and services does not infringe any copyright, database right, trade mark or any other intellectual property right of another person.
You warrant that you have all necessary licenses, rights, consents and permissions which are required to allow you to make any contribution to CV websites, products and services without infringing any third party intellectual property rights.
Whenever you upload or post any information or material to CV websites, products and services (including any text, photographs, images, video or audio), you:
grant CV permission to display, reproduce, distribute and use the information and material in any way (including adapting or editing) in any media worldwide; and

CV reserves the right to withdraw linking permission without notice.

12. Suspension and Termination
Failure to comply with any of these terms and conditions constitutes a material breach, and may result in our taking all or any of the following actions:
Immediate, temporary or permanent withdrawal of your right to use CV websites, products and services;
Immediate, temporary or permanent removal of any posting or material uploaded by you to CV websites, products and services;
Issuing a warning to you;
Legal proceedings commenced against you for reimbursement of all costs on an indemnity basis (including, but not limited to, reasonable administrative and legal costs) resulting from the breach;
Further legal action against you; and/or

18.1 Jurisdiction

Disclosure of Data
CV never shares your personal information with third parties (save as set out below), unless it is required to fulfil a contractual product or service or is a legal or regulatory requirement. In most cases you will be notified and will have the option to opt out of the product or service prior to having your personal information shared.
In order to fulfil the ministry and organisational purposes for which you provided us your personal information, it may be shared with our employees (including those in our subsidiaries), affiliates and ministry partners, and other parties who require such information to assist us with establishing, maintaining and managing our relationship with you and providing ministry products and services you request.
This may include:
CV Offices – Currently in North America, Latin America, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Partner Churches – To handle responses, we cooperate with local churches. We process the data you submit via our contact forms on our servers in North America to be able to forward it to a church near you.
Overseas Recipients – CV may disclose personal information to outsourced information technology service providers, including cloud computing providers and data storage providers, based overseas.
Online Advertising – CV may promote our ministry activities and resources by purchasing advertising space on third-party websites. Tracking data collected by these third-party companies is used to decide which advertisements you see on third-party websites and applications, but does not identify you personally.
Other Platforms or Services – Some CV products and services may be integrated with external services, including social media networks. This may mean that information, for instance about your interests and activities, is tracked or pulled from other places (such as Facebook). CV may also use analytics tools and services (such as Google Analytics) to track your usage of CV products and services.
As result of the above, your personal information may transit through or be collected, used, processed, stored or disclosed in both the United Kingdom and other countries, including countries outside of the European Union, under the control of CV or one of our affiliated organisations or ministry partners. Where your personal information is provided to ministry partners or service providers, we take steps to safeguard your personal information, including entering into European Commission approved clauses in our agreements with our partners and service providers to ensure the security of your personal data, and using confidentiality agreements that restrict the use of your information to the purpose for which it is provided.
Please note that we may collect, use or disclose your personal information without your knowledge or consent where we are permitted or required by applicable law or regulatory requirements to do so.
Retaining Data
We retain personal information for as long as we reasonably require it for legal or business purposes. Please refer to our data retention policy for more detail. In determining data retention periods, CV takes into consideration local laws, contractual obligations, and the expectations and requirements of groupings of individuals based on the nature of their relationship with CV. When no longer required, personal information is destroyed in a secure manner or deleted. We also take steps to ensure that the personal information we collect is accurate, up-to-date and complete. These steps include maintaining and updating personal information when we are advised by individuals that their personal information has changed.
Security and Protection
We take reasonable steps to protect all personal information which we process from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or unauthorised disclosure. We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure and take reasonable steps (suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures) to hold personal information securely in electronic or physical form and try to prevent unauthorised access. These steps include the use of Internet Encryption Software, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Protocol when collecting or transferring sensitive data, password protection for electronic files, securing paper files in locked cabinets and physical access restrictions. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our sites; any transmission is at your own risk.
Where We Store Data
The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the United States. It may also be processed by staff operating outside the United States who work for us or for one of our suppliers. Such staff maybe engaged in, among other things, the provision of support services. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. CV has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party sites or services. Your ability to opt-out of a third party tool or platform will depend on the conditions governing your agreement with that third party. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.
Your Rights
If you are an individual who has provided personal information to CV, you have certain rights:
Right of Access
You may request a copy of any personal information we hold about you. This is known as a “Subject Access Request”. To make a Subject Access Request, please write to the DPO using the contact details provided in the Contact Details section below and the information (where appropriate) will usually be provided within 30 days.
Right to Rectification
You may request an update or correction be made to personal information about you held by CV. Please write to the DPO using the contact details provided in the key contacts section below and the information (where appropriate) will usually be updated within 30 days.
Right to Restrict Processing
You have the right to ask us not to use your personal information for marketing purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your data or using the unsubscribe link found in the email communication you receive from us. You may also ask us to restrict the use of your data because:
you do think it is inaccurate, but this will take time to confirm;
you believe our data processing is unlawful, but you do not want your data erased;
you want us to stop using your data, but we have yet to determine whether your request is valid.

Right to Erasure

Use Restricted to over 16s
You may not access any of our interactive services or share your personal information with us, unless you are 16 years of age. In some circumstances, the service we offer may enable you to provide the consent of a person with parental responsibility for you. CV will make reasonable efforts to verify in such cases that consent is given or authorised by the holder of parental responsibility over a child, taking into consideration available technology.
All communications with respect to such withdrawal or variation of consent must be in writing, and it may take us up to 30 days to process your withdrawal of consent. When contacting us about your personal information, we may request specific information from you to confirm your identity and right to access, as well as to search for and provide you with the personal information that we hold about you. Your rights to personal information that we hold about you is not absolute. There may be instances where applicable law or regulatory requirements allow or require us to refuse to provide some or all of the personal information that we hold about you. In addition, the personal information may have been destroyed, erased or made anonymous in accordance with our record retention obligations and practices. In the event that we cannot provide you with access to your personal information, we will inform you of the reasons why, subject to any legal or regulatory restrictions.
